CHAMBER COMMITTEESThe Monmouth Area Chamber of Commerce has six standing committees that are staffed by Chamber board members and representatives from Chamber business members. They are structured to meet the needs of the business community and accomplish the organization's goals and objectives. The standing committees of the Chamber are as follows.The Executive Committee consists of the MACC officers (Chairperson, 1st Vice Chairperson, Treasurer and Past Chairperson). Business Assistance Program Committee reviews all applications submitted for funding through the BAP and recommends action to the Chamber Board of Directors. The BAP is a lending program with the purpose of meeting the requested financial needs of existing and prospective small retail, manufacturing, or service product customers by providing gap financing in conjunction with conventional bank financing. Education Committee works with all levels of our educational systems to develop understanding and collaboration between educators and the business community in order to develop a workforce that will meet the needs of area businesses. Legislative Committee organizes an annual Legislative Luncheon that gives state and federal representatives and senators an opportunity to update the business community on legislative actions and issues. It identifies and monitors proposed, state and federal legislation, and encourages members to contact appropriate legislators and officials to voice their opinion. The members of the Ambassador Committee serve as ambassadors of good will and coordinates activities for business ribbon cuttings. They focus on recruitment and retention of Chamber members. The focus of the Tourism Committee is to work with Chamber resources and local organizations to promote and expand existing activities and events, and to create new tourism attractions that represent the cultural and historical heritage of the area. |
